Bette Golden Lamb and J.J. Lamb are co-authors of 10 crime novels. The most recent: BONE POINT, eighth book in the Gina Mazzio RN medical thriller series. Five months into a high-risk pregnancy, Gina’s veteran brother, who suffers from PTSD, has vanished. Although she is under bed-rest orders, she takes off to find him. What she discovers is that Vinnie’s been swallowed up in a derelict, soon-to-close VA psychiatric hospital with a corrupt administration involved in greed, malevolence, and murder.
Also new is Bette Golden Lamb’s THE RUSSIAN GIRL, based on a true story of a woman who escapes from a high security nursing home during the hottest day of the year. The thermometer reads 115 degrees and she is dehydrated, lost, slogging through the burning sands of a New Mexico desert. Her delirium reveals a harrowing story of a young immigrant Russian girl forced to come to America in the early 1900s. Her turbulent life is filled with upheaval, lost love, and activism in a crushing, brutal 20th century journey.
BONE SLICE, seventh book in the Gina Mazzio RN medical thriller series, sees Gina and Harry plunged into the midst of a deadly clash between hands-on-medicine traditionalists and those eager to dive headlong into the futurist whirlpool of robotics. In BONE CRACK, the sixth book in the series, Gina is the target of a doctor who doesn’t want her revealing his less-than-ethical medical practices; he goes so far as to hire a professional hitman. In BONE DUST, the fifth book in the series, a flu epidemic slams San Francisco, pushing medical facilities far beyond normal limits. The chaos masks deadly blood-letting by a sociopathic phlebotomist, who makes Gina a prime target. Other books in the series are BONE DRY, a high-tension story about the theft and ransom of life-critical bone marrow; SIN & BONE, where Gina risks her life to expose a nurse-murderer and uncover an illicit trade in human body parts; BONE PIT, with Gina and Harry on a joint travel nurse assignment at a creepy Alzheimer’s rehab facility in desolate Nevada gold country; and BONE of CONTENTION, which follows Gina’s concern over an outbreak of mystifying post-abortion deaths among clinic patients.
The LAMBS have also collaborated on SISTERS IN SILENCE, a medical thriller about a fertility counselor who goes on a mercy-killing spree of barren women; and HEIR TODAY…, a fast-paced suspense/adventure novel featuring a husband-wife investigative journalist team that discovers fraud, mayhem, high-seas piracy, murder, and romance while digging into a shady heir-tracing operation.

Taut Political Thriller About Legalizing Euthanasia
(Available as eBook and trade paperback )
That’s the deadline to quash a top-secret, political-corporate legislative package that would legalize killing indigent terminally ill hospital patients … not through benign assisted suicide … but by aggressive, selective euthanasia.
This in the name of political party control, a balanced federal budget, and greater corporate profits.
What the greedy powerbrokers don’t anticipate is an in-your-face, seniors’ advocacy group that gets wind of the secret legislative plot and reacts aggressively.
The Coalition of Older & Retired Persons (CORPS) hires Ted Yost—semi-retired investigative journalist—to expose the scurrilous behind-the-scenes manipulations.
Yost barely gets started when his client’s office is blown up, his California home is vandalized, his wife is kidnapped, and someone tries to kill him.
Book Two Of The Dystopian Medical Thriller Series
In this terrorizing sequel to The Organ Harvesters, the bloodless war of 2020 has destroyed all governments and left monster corporations in control globally, unhindered to waste the planet’s natural resources, and to manipulate the world’s population with iron-handed control.
There’s one last chance to save life on Planet Earth. Roaming at large under a death warrant, Zoe Hidalga leaves her daughter and her lover, mystic Asher Wind Storm, to return to Sanfrancorp to join the Defys, an underground resistance group that has spread throughout the world over the past six years.
The time has come for Redemption, a time to save the people and shut down the Organ Harvesters and corporate domination.
Shamus Award Nomination
No Pat Hands, the fourth book in J.J.’s Zachariah Tobias Rolfe III PI series, was nominated for a 2014 Shamus Award from Private Eye Writers of America.
In No Pat Hands, tragedies of the past overlap frustrations of the present when PI gaming specialist Rolfe is hired to ferret out whoever is sabotaging a small Northern California Indian tribe’s efforts to build an oceanfront casino/hotel complex.
Rolfe immediately becomes embroiled with two murders, attempts on his life, a dishonest Washington lobbyist, a number of underhanded locals, and a pair of beautiful women before solving the case.
As Rolfe discovers, past or present, it’s the land, stupid; it’s always about the land.
A Little More About the Lambs
Bette and J.J. combine collaboration and cohabitation in an air of creative exchange in their Northern California home.
When not writing, either together or independently, Bette, unmistakably from the Bronx, is a professional ceramicist and artist, an RN, and devoted gardener (50+ rose bushes!).
J.J. ran with bad companions early on and switched from engineering to journalism. He’s also a skilled (and proud) jack-of-all-trades, typical of a born and raised Hoosier.
In addition to the successful launch of their latest thrillers, the Lambs are looking forward to writing the next Gina Mazzio medical thriller. They also write short stories, when the spirit (and a market) moves them. They belong to Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, and the same (excellent) writers critique group for more than 20 years.
